My name is Charlie Gaasch and I am a college student pursuing a degree in
sports business at the University of Oklahoma. I played the game of football for seven seasons
and am completely obsessed with all that it is.
For the past five years, I have pursued my own sports-related projects that include a variety of
data analytics, film studies, opinion pieces, and both in-season and post-season coverage and
predictions. I have collections of notes, files, spreadsheets, and word documents detailing each
of those pieces of work. Recently, I began working as a sportswriter for the Crimson Captain,
covering OU athletics. From there I decided to launch my own page where I can cover a variety of
sports, leagues, and teams to my choosing.
The Gaasch Gazette aims to elevate the casual fan to a serious fan who can break down any sport,
though primarily NFL and college football, and discover the intricacies that reside there. I
have a goal to inform the already serious fan and keep them up to date with the happenings of
the sports they are interested in by providing stats and analyzing them. This will be
supplemented with direct game studies, interviews, and opinion pieces as well.
While the purpose is to provide an easily accessible source of information, it is also an outlet
for me to display my knowledge and passions. I will work diligently to provide the fan with what
they need to progress their own knowledge and fulfill their passions. This page will include
most of my personal interests, but at its heart will be of service to the sports population and
their interests as a whole.
Thank you for taking the time to visit and I hope you see the value that there is in sticking
around.
